John Smithson Has Joined the Reinsurance Business of Towers Perrin

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Towers Perrin, a global professional services firm, announced that John Smithson has joined the firm's Reinsurance business as a Senior Vice President based in the firm's Philadelphia office. He will be responsible for business development and client relationships and will be a member of the Global Business Development team.
Mr. Smithson brings significant reinsurance and insurance industry expertise to the firm. Prior to joining Towers Perrin, he was a Principal with insurance broker, Commonwealth Professional Group. Mr. Smithson has also held senior positions with PMA Corporation, most recently as President and Chief Executive Officer of PMA Capital Corp.
