Princeton Softech Boosts Oracle® E-Business Suite Archiving Capabilities with Proven Optim Technology
Business Wire, April 16, 2007
New Release Provides Full-Complement of Archiving Capabilities for Full-Lifecycle Data Management
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Princeton Softech, the market leader in enterprise data management, today announced the general availability of its Optim[TM] Oracle[R] E-Business Suite Solution, Version 5.0. This release delivers new support for the full complement of archiving capabilities based on Optim's enterprise data management technology, providing Oracle sites with greater flexibility for archive processing and storage. In addition, capabilities for both native and application-independent data access provide alternatives for interacting with archived transactions, enabling Oracle sites to leverage different access paths at different points in the archive lifecycle and to deploy a full-lifecycle management strategy across Oracle E-Business Suite applications.
"As a Certified Advantage Partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork, Princeton Softech continues to match its enterprise data management technology with the needs of the Oracle user community," said Tom Herrmann, vice president, ISV Management and Programs, at Oracle. "Whether our clients have chosen Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise, JD Edwards or Siebel to manage their essential business function, Optim helps sites achieve a Superior Ownership Experience."
This new Optim release provides increased flexibility and control for archive processing and storage based on Princeton Softech's enterprise data management technology. Complementing Optim's support for Oracle purge routines, Version 5.0 provides Oracle E-Business Suite sites with expanded database archiving capabilities, including deferred delete and selective retrieval features, as well as full interoperability with sites' existing storage environments. Sites can easily comply with data retention regulations, while reducing storage costs. Additionally, Optim's enterprise data management capabilities include support for data de-identification to protect privacy and test data management capabilities to improve efficiencies to speed iterative testing cycles and control costs.
"ERP sites are looking for a full range of capabilities to manage data through the lifecycle," said Sonia Lelii, storage research analyst with Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks company. "Sites should consider solutions that can speed testing and protect privacy, as well as streamline operations through archiving."
Only Princeton Softech Optim provides the widest range of access alternatives necessary for full-lifecycle archiving. Native application access allows authorized users to interact with current and archived application data using the Oracle E-Business Suite user interface and familiar processes. Version 5.0 supports native application access to archives managed in an Oracle database on all supported platforms (Windows, UNIX and Linux). Application-independent access provides the most flexible range of access alternatives over the life of the archive. This approach allows authorized functional users to interact with archives using industry standard methods, such as ODBC/JDBC, XML tools and report writers, such as Oracle Discoverer. Most importantly, application-independent access allows sites to "future-proof" access to archived application data.
Princeton Softech Optim is the only scalable enterprise data management solution that supports the entire Oracle technology stack: Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and Siebel, as well as custom and packaged applications built upon Oracle databases.
