Penn State Great Valley Graduate School Open House Set for May 2

MALVERN, Pa. -- Penn State Great Valley graduate school will hold an open house on Wednesday, May 2, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the Safeguard Scientifics Building on campus. The open house features networking and a welcome from Chancellor Diane Disney from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., followed by a variety of brief sample courses and program overviews led by Penn State Great Valley faculty and staff designed to give participants a taste of graduate-level coursework in education, engineering, and business, as well as continuing professional education.

Sample courses include: "Visually Connecting with Online Learners," with Roy Clariana, education division head; "Systems Thinking: Whole Solutions for Whole Problems," with Colin Neill, associate professor of software engineering; and "Developing Creative High Performance People and Enterprises," with Eric Stein, associate professor of management science and information systems.

Program overview sessions are as follows: "Business and Management Offerings for Professional Development," with Lillian Mina, continuing professional education department; "Professional Development Programs in Education," with Sharon Kauffman, continuing professional education department; and "Technology Programs for Professional Development," with Jay Polakoff, continuing professional education department.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to speak with admissions, career and financial aid representatives. Light refreshments will be provided, and raffles and giveaways will be available. Penn State Great Valley offers graduate courses in education, finance, information science, leadership, management/MBA, software engineering, systems engineering, and training design and development.
