Business Wire, April 2, 2007
Nation's Largest Residential Real Estate Brokerage Delivered Fair Housing Training to More Than 42,000 Sales Associates In Less Than One Year
PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- NRT Incorporated, the nation's largest residential real estate brokerage company and a leader in the development and national implementation of standardized fair housing education for its leadership and sales associates, made several announcements today relating to its celebration of April as Fair Housing Month.
In less than one year since the inception of NRT's groundbreaking partnership with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), NRT has developed and delivered enhanced Fair Housing training certification programs to more than 42,000 sales associates affiliated with NRT companies. Established in 1990, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition harnesses the collective energies of community reinvestment organizations and works to increase the flow of private capital into traditionally underserved communities.
"Homeownership is a vital link to achieving the iconic American dream, providing a financial foundation as well as an anchor for strong and thriving communities," said Judy Reeves, NRT's executive vice president and chief operating officer. "NRT is proud to support its sales associates in their efforts to turn dreams into realities for all of our customers across the country."
NRT's Fair Housing education program was developed in coordination with the National Association of Realtors[R] (NAR) and incorporates NAR brochures, handbooks and an award-winning video as part of the training materials.
In addition, Fair Housing education has been incorporated into NRT's basic training program for new sales associates. After completing the training, participants sign the NRT Fair Housing Pledge, certifying their personal commitment to provide equal professional service to any prospective client, customer or resident of any community.
During the course of the month, NRT and its local operating companies across the country will promote April as National Fair Housing Month on their respective Web sites, including a link to an online resource guide, appropriate for both sales associates and consumers, which outlines housing rights afforded to all Americans under the Fair Housing Act. In addition, NRT has developed its own proprietary Fair Housing Policies and Procedures handbook, which will be distributed to all of the company's sales associates in April.
