GLO CPAs, LLP April Keynote Speaker Luncheon: Dr. Richard Murray & Bum Phillips

HOUSTON -- GLO CPAs, LLP, a large Houston-based, 25-year-old leading certified public accounting firm is providing more than financial services for its clients and constituents by hosting monthly networking luncheons at The Houston Club benefiting GLO CPAs, LLP scholarship fund. On Wednesday, April 18, 2007, GLO will host a keynote speaker luncheon featuring Dr. Richard Murray, KTRK-TV, Channel 13 Political Commentator and Professor of Political Science at the University of Houston and Bum Phillips, former Houston Oilers head coach.
With topic, "Assessing the Earliest, Most Expensive and Largest Presidential Race in American History: The 2008 Presidential Election", Dr. Murray will give his overview of the candidates and 2008 election predictions. Richard Murray is a native of Louisiana with B.A. and M.A. degrees in Government from Louisiana State University (1962, 1963) and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Minnesota (1967). Dr. Murray has taught at the University of Houston since 1966 and is currently the Bob Lanier Professor of Political Policy in the UH Department of Political Science and Director of Surveying for the UH Center for Public Policy.
Bum Phillips, former Houston Oilers head coach and major GLO CPAs supporter, will also attend the luncheon with the University of Houston Scholarship Presentation, awarding $30,000 to University of Houston students. In 1975, Phillips was named head coach and general manager of the Houston Oilers, and served in that capacity through 1980. He was known for wearing his trademark cowboy hat on the sidelines, except when the Oilers played in the Astrodome (he stated that he was taught not to wear a hat indoors). Bum great supporter of the University of Houston and local Houston businesses.
