Touch Screen Self-Service Station for QSR Integrates with VeriFone POS Systems
LAS VEGAS -- VeriFone Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:PAY) today announced the iOrder Food Service Kiosk, an easy-to-use self-service station designed for quick serve restaurant (QSR) and convenience store food service operations. iOrder works with VeriFone's Sapphire site controller and Ruby and Topaz POS systems to provide a wide range of benefits, including remote content management and integrated sales and inventory with back office reporting.
iOrder combines a 15-inch infrared touch screen terminal and customizable software application for a self-service order solution that enhances the customer's experience and maximizes store sales and marketing opportunities. Remote content management capabilities make it possible to update, monitor and track content and use, and produce complete log reports from remote locations.
"VeriFone is delivering a self-service system that plugs into the existing POS infrastructure and provides stores with increased profitability and efficiency," said Bud Waller, VeriFone executive vice president, Integrated Solutions. "At the same time they can provide their customers with an enjoyable, easy-to-use touch screen order entry experience that meets the growing need for customer self-activation."
Once consumers have placed their orders into iOrder, they can continue shopping while their food is being prepared and pick up their order at their convenience. Initial QSR customers have experienced a 20% increase in average order size and significant labor savings.
Integration with VeriFone POS systems provides several options to bring an order into a transaction at the point of sale, including bar code scanning or customer order number retrieval. QSRs can use iOrder to track only priced items, or can track to an item's detail level, including zero-priced items such as lettuce and tomatoes. All iOrder tracked items exist in the store's price book and all sales feed into the existing reports and reporting structure of the back office system. Integration into the POS expedites the cashiering process and streamlines inventory management.
iOrder has been successfully implemented in multiple locations in the Northeast region of the U.S. and is available across North America. VeriFone provides a complete array of professional services, including application design, project management and implementation support.
