Aldon Delivers Robust ALM Plug-in for Latest IBM WebSphere Development Studio client
Business Wire, April 29, 2007
EMERYVILLE, Calif. -- Aldon, the leading provider of process-driven Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions, today announced Aldon Lifecycle Manager (System i Edition v7.5) plug-in support for the latest IBM WebSphere[R] Development Studio client (WDSc) 7.0. In line with the recent introduction of WDSc 7.0, Aldon's plug-in compatibility demonstrates the company's commitment to ensure customers get the most of their existing System i investments while providing increased interoperability between the best-of-breed technologies. In the complex WebSphere environment, Aldon ALM becomes the foundation which allows IT to consistently build, integrate and modernize high-quality applications, and better meet end-user requirements on time and within budget.
"We pride ourselves on being a company on the leading edge of enterprise software with a clearly differentiated and progressive vision for continued advancement of technology. This includes both the System i and the open system markets," said Daniel Magid, CEO and president, Aldon. "By ensuring we enhance our solutions in line with our technology partners, we help businesses protect their corporate assets while achieving efficiencies at the same time."
By combining the Aldon solution with IBM's latest Integrated Development Environment (IDE), IT departments gain the full functionality of application lifecycle management from IBM's most powerful IDE, bringing IT departments the automated processes and increased visibility they need to help achieve business goals.
Based on Eclipse 3.2, the Aldon Lifecycle Manager plug-ins enable sophisticated application lifecycle management from within the WDSc, RAD, and WDSc Lite development environments, allowing developers to work in their chosen IDE. Because Aldon uses WebSphere's "team repository" approach rather than the proprietary, vendor-based "perspective" approach, WebSphere Studio developers and project managers using Aldon can operate on objects for Microsoft[R] Windows[R], UNIX[R], Linux[R], i5/OST, OS/400T, OpenVMST and z/OS from within a single repository using the standard team repository right-click menu.
With the Aldon plug-ins, developers need no additional training to understand the user interface, views presented, or functionality. Even complex, multi-tier, cross platform projects, including those involving Web services or SOA applications, can be developed, tested and managed within the RAD and WDSc environments. Users are able to track all development and maintenance efforts, ensuring that everyone is aware of activity that might impact them.
The Aldon plug-ins are free for all Aldon customers and can be downloaded at the Aldon Customer Support Area.
