New Service Integrates with Entire Skyscape Portfolio of 450 Resources by Specialty
MARLBOROUGH, Mass. -- Skyscape[R], the worldwide leading service for trusted medical information by specialty for mobile devices, today announced its launch of the innovative Skyscape CME 360, a new service which helps physicians keep up-to-date with the latest medical information. The new CME 360 is the only continuing medical education offering that seamlessly integrates with a large portfolio of over 450 information resources by specialty supported by Skyscape.
With the introduction of CME 360, Skyscape has responded directly to the growing trend of continuing education moving towards total mobility, adding a new dimension to Skyscape STAT -- its up-to-the-minute and around the clock, on-demand delivery of any resource, anywhere, on any platform, 24/7. Through Skyscape's patented smARTlink[TM] and Knowtify[TM] technologies, CME 360 provides a completely mobile, convenient, flexible and easy way for doctors to earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits using the mobile device of their choice, anytime, anywhere.
According to Skyscape president and CEO, Sandeep Shah, "CME 360 furthers Skyscape's commitment and reputation as the most comprehensive service for all of the information needs of physicians. Market research has shown that our physician users reach for Skyscape's mobile resources for clinical decision support at the point of care. In addition to providing CME credits for using these resources, we added new CME resources by specialty that will be offered in the context of their workflow, through Skyscape's exclusive smart linking and notification technology. It enables physicians to stay current with latest developments in their field with the information sourced from Skyscape's trusted partners."
CME credits are required in most states for medical licenses and specialty board certification renewal. Typically, a CME activity is an article or case study that is to be read and is then followed by a short Q&A to validate the understanding of the material. Skyscape CME 360 makes accessing and completing CME requirements virtually effortless.
Robert Phillips, MD, PhD, FACC, FAHA, agrees, "Skyscape CME 360 makes it easy for me to stay on top of the latest topics in medicine and my specialty. It fulfills all of the criteria that I am looking for in a CME product. It keeps me current with the literature and it gives me the freedom to choose when, where and how (either PDA or desktop) I want to participate." Dr Phillips is a cardiologist and Professor of Medicine at UMass Medical School, Worcester, MA.
Dr Phillips also appreciates the fact that CME 360 captures the completed activities by creating certificates to document the credit(s) earned. The certificates are then stored in an online vault at Skyscape. He adds, "Skyscape's secure CME vault takes the worry out of keeping track of all my CME credits. With either a tap or click the CME credits are automatically recorded for easy reporting."
HOW CME 360 WORKS
The physician gets new CME activities delivered to his/her mobile device (or other platform including laptop, tablet pc or desktop) along with the other trusted Skyscape resources such as drug, clinical and evidence-based information. Likewise, completed activities are transmitted back to the Skyscape website during synchronization. For each completed activity, a formal certificate is created to document the credit(s) earned. Certificates are stored in an online vault that is part of the user's "My Account" area on the website. The vault provides a convenient storage for the physician's CME activities, even adding non-Skyscape CME activities to the transcript - making it a single, comprehensive CME documentation for ongoing reference.
