SwisSQL Conversion Tool Reduces Oracle Migrations from Five Days to One
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Netezza Corporation, a leading provider of data warehouse appliances, today announced a partnership with AdventNet, a leading provider of database migration and enterprise IT management software, to help customers more seamlessly migrate their Oracle data warehouse to the Netezza Performance Server[R] (NPS[R]) system. The new SwisSQL Console conversion tool will enable users to easily convert Oracle SQL to the Netezza data warehouse appliance, typically improving the time to deployment from five days to one.
As the amount of data continues to grow and users demand instant access to information to make critical, time-sensitive decisions, companies are moving away from their Oracle systems in favor of more scalable, flexible alternatives. Through its partnership with AdventNet, Netezza not only offers customers better performance, but also the necessary tools for a quick and painless transition.
"At AdventNet, we know that suffering through a long and painful conversion process can put a strain on administrator resources, increase time to deployment and decrease ROI," said Clarence Rozario, Product Manager for the SwisSQL suite of tools at AdventNet. "We partnered with Netezza to ease the migration process from Oracle SQL to Netezza so that organizations around the globe can start experiencing the speed and performance of the NPS system without many of the hassles of complicated migrations."
"AdventNet has created a robust conversion tool that enables a simple and fast migration from Oracle SQL to Netezza," said Vishal Daga, director of partner marketing at Netezza. "Using the SwisSQL conversion tool, our customers will be able to more quickly realize the benefits and value of the Netezza Performance Server data warehouse appliance."
Availability
The SwisSQL Console conversion tool is available now for public download at the AdventNet website.
The Netezza Performance Server system is built specifically to analyze terabytes of detailed data 10-100 times faster than existing data warehouse options, at a much lower total cost of ownership. The NPS system stores, filters and processes terabytes of records within a single unit, analyzing only the relevant information for each query. Netezza has placed the processing power next to the data, allowing the NPS system to speed through processes that would occupy most data warehouse systems for hours, or even days, enabling dramatic increases in productivity across the organization.
Customers who have recognized the benefits of Netezza's approach include Ahold, Amazon.com, CNET Networks, Debenhams, Epsilon, Neiman Marcus, Orange UK, Premier, Inc., Ryder System, Inc., Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation and The Carphone Warehouse.
