Pageflex Storefront 5.5 Offers Enhanced Customization Capabilities for Business-to-Consumer Markets
Business Wire, August 10, 2007
Award-winning software solution enables the development, deployment and management of consumer-friendly websites at customer sites
BOSTON -- Pageflex, a division of Bitstream Inc. (NASDAQ: BITS, www.bitstream.com) and a leading developer of enterprise variable publishing and web-to-print solutions, announced today the availability of Pageflex Storefront 5.5. The new features of Storefront 5.5 will drive Pageflex users into new markets by enabling them to create, deploy and manage websites for the lucrative consumer market. Pageflex users can expand their offering to their own customers by utilizing new features that support the development of consumer-oriented products including photo books, stationery and calendars.
At the core of the upgrade is the ability to alter the graphical elements of the customer-facing site, including colors, font size, and button graphics, navigation, catalog, editing and checkout controls. These tools allow Pageflex users to create product- and market-specific websites to complement their offerings. The anonymous browsing feature gives users the ability to offer customers access to the storefront website and the opportunity to customize products without registering until checkout.
This new release also gives Pageflex users the ability to insert custom content -- even dynamic content -- in many areas of the site, including a site footer, login page, registration page, start page, and all catalog categories. This capability provides a place where they can further promote the products on their websites. For example, a printer could insert a sidebar banner next to their product catalog to advertise other printing services that they offer. They could also insert product cross-sell information within the catalog itself, leading to more sales and additional revenue opportunities.
"Our customers have used our Pageflex solutions to enhance their business offerings, and expanding their services to reach the consumer market is a natural progression," stated Anna Chagnon, president and CEO, Bitstream, Inc. "This release of Pageflex Storefront 5.5 supports our customers' demands for an intuitive solution that will successfully push them into the rewarding consumer market, essentially taking their business to the next level."
New features of the Pageflex Storefront 5.5 upgrade also include:
* Performance Improvements and Scalability: Allows users to add more licensed servers to run jobs with Pageflex Storefront. Combined with the available queue-based architecture, this enables more jobs to run concurrently and provides faster interactions for site visitors.
* UNC path support. To support larger installations running multiple servers, Pageflex has added UNC path support for specifying the location of project assets.
* Adobe PDF Library 8. Pageflex has updated to the Adobe PDF Library 8 for all PDF output.
* Product Search: Allows users to offer their customers a way to search for a specific product, including the use of assigned keywords.
Following this release, Pageflex will offer translations of the customer-facing store interface in Spanish, French and German. Upon visiting the online store, Pageflex Storefront 5.5 will detect the preferred language setting in the customer's web browser and display the interface in that language automatically.
Pageflex Storefront has received industry awards for its ingenuity and ease of use. Storefront 5.5 delivers on the Pageflex reputation as a leading provider of the most advanced, innovative web-to-print software on the market.
