BAPCo® Releases MobileMark®2007 - The Latest Version of the Premier Performance Qualified Battery Life Metric Extends Support to Windows® Vista™

SAN MATEO, Calif. -- The latest version of the premier performance qualified battery life metric based on real world applications was released today by the Business Application Performance Corporation or BAPCo[R], a non-profit consortium of leading computer industry publications, independent testing labs, PC hardware manufacturers, semiconductor manufacturers and software publishers.
MobileMark 2007 extends the MobileMark family, which has been widely accepted by IT Managers, PC OEMs, press and analysts worldwide to support Windows[R] Vista[TM]. MobileMark 2007 allows users to directly compare platforms based on Windows[R] Vista[TM] to those based on Windows[R] XP Professional and Home.
The new release also incorporates numerous new features and enhancements such as an improved GUI allowing streamlined start-up and run along with a heads-up-display (HUD) and automated error reporting.
Recognizing the increasing diversity in the use of notebook computing, MobileMark 2007 features DVD, Wireless and Reader modules in addition to the existing core Productivity module. Each module includes a robust and refreshed set of applications and can be run individually to show battery life in a greater variety of specific scenarios.
The MobileMark family of benchmarks are used by PC OEMs, hardware and software developers, IT departments, system integrators, publishers and testing labs as well as Information technologists and computer industry analysts.
