SurfControl and Authentium Establish a New Partnership in Security
Business Wire, August 15, 2007
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. -- SurfControl (LSE:SRF), a leading provider of global on-demand, network and endpoint IT security solutions, today announced the signing of an OEM agreement with Authentium, Inc., a leading provider of service based security software, to integrate into SurfControl's secure messaging products. The new agreement makes this a reciprocal OEM partnership as Authentium currently uses SurfControl's URL filtering technology within their Extensible Service Platform.
"We are proud to have Authentium as a one of our strategic antivirus vendors of choice." Said Rocco Donnino, vice president of business development at SurfControl. Authentium's customers have benefited tremendously from our URL filtering technologies within the ISP market and we are confident that our customers will enjoy equal benefits from a true multi-layered defense as we incorporate the Authentium AV into our solutions."
Authentium's best-of-breed AV engine will be added to SurfControl's secure messaging solutions as one of multiple AV solutions, delivering protection at multiple points - "in the cloud" with on-demand security services, on the network with software and appliances.
The SurfControl URL Filtering technology provides enhanced security and integrated content filtering to Authentium's growing service provider network. Internet, Financial and Managed service providers will have access to SurfControl's award winning URL database which provides zero hour detection and real time security for their networks. ESP enables organizations to procure, deploy and manage antispyware, antivirus and content filtering solutions, and other endpoint software applications from multiple vendors through a single, integrated, management interface.
"Surfcontrol has built an impressive portfolio of security technologies to protect business customers. Joining forces with Authentium's market leading heuristic detection and remediation of malware will help to keep Surfcontrol in a leadership position," said Doug Brunt, President of Authentium.
