Leading Robotics Manufacturer Deploys LiteScape OnCast to Enhance Investment in Cisco IP Telephony and Lotus Notes
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. -- LiteScape Technologies, Inc. (www.litescape.com), a leading developer of Unified Communications applications, today announced that it has deployed its flagship product, OnCast, at Kawasaki Robotics -- a member of the Kawasaki Heavy Industries Robotics Division that provides robotics, manufacturing, and engineering services to the automotive and semiconductor industries. Kawasaki has deployed OnCast to unify their corporate directories with their IP telephony infrastructure, streamline communications, and broadcast important messages and information to employees in their Wixom, MI headquarters and to all of their North American sales and services offices.
"OnCast is cool! With OnCast's integration of our Cisco IP phones and Lotus Notes, I can do everything from my desktop PC (dial, broadcast, and answer the phone). I am no longer limited to a single communications device," explains Bruce Mayrand, the Senior Information Systems & Finance Manager at Kawasaki Robotics (USA).
Kawasaki Robotics needed to provide their employees with better access to corporate directories from their IP phones and desktop business applications to streamline communications and simplify collaboration processes. Kawasaki Robotics also required a centralized communications solution to broadcast important messages and information to employees within their Wixom, MI headquarters, and facilities in Louisville, KY and San Jose, CA. They were searching for a solution which would prevent them from having to invest in costly overhead speakers throughout these facilities.
LiteScape OnCast provided Kawasaki employees with click-to-dial functionality -- as well as conferencing and broadcasting -- to reduce the time needed to communicate with fellow employees and to allow people to reach each other in a more timely manner. Now Kawasaki employees, using OnCast, can access a single, unified directory from Lotus Notes and their Cisco IP Phones to identify, call, conference, or broadcast to their North American sales and services offices. Moreover, with one, centralized LiteScape OnCast solution, Kawasaki employees can broadcast critical information and company-wide announcements within their headquarters and to their remote offices, ensuring that all employees are delivered the most current messages and announcements effectively.
"OnCast has been a rewarding investment, enabling Kawasaki Robotics to leverage our existing Cisco infrastructure and VoIP system and avoid the expense of overhead speakers," explains Bruce Mayrand. "OnCast has enabled Kawasaki Robotics to streamline our internal communications through broadcasting services and integrating communications within commonly-used applications like Lotus Notes, improving how we run our robotics and automation services business."
LiteScape OnCast bridges the gap between corporate data, collaboration tools, desktop PCs, and IP phones to create a seamless communications experience where employees can effortlessly collaborate with one another. The power of OnCast lies in its ability to integrate an organization's communications infrastructure with a range of critical business applications including Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Outlook/Exchange, IBM Lotus Notes, Salesforce.com, and WebEx. By integrating the tasks Kawasaki employees associate with their telephones with the functions they perform on their computers, OnCast allows users to collaborate more effectively than ever, increasing Kawasaki's overall productivity and optimizing their business processes.
