Business Wire, August 20, 2007
Nobuya Sakagami Named New President Of NEC Display Solutions of America
CHICAGO -- NEC Display Solutions of America, Inc., a leading provider of innovative LCD displays, professional grade plasmas and projectors, and integrated display solutions, today announced the retirement of President and Chief Operating Officer T.J. Trojan, effective November 1, 2007.
Mr. Trojan cited the desire to pursue outside personal interests as the reason for his departure after 24 years in various roles with NEC, culminating with being named President of NEC-Mitsubishi Display in 2003 and President of NEC Display Solutions in 2006. Under his tenure, NEC Display Solutions became the market leader in several display categories in the North American market space, most notably in the enterprise, professional and digital signage segments.
Mr. Trojan will be replaced by the appointment of Nobuya Sakagami. Sakagami is currently responsible for global business activities as Senior Vice President and Member of the Board of NEC Display Solutions, Ltd., the parent company of NEC Display Solutions of America.
"We will sincerely miss T.J.'s leadership, commitment, and contributions to NEC, and wish him the very best for the future," Sakagami said. "His recent effort to merge all of our visual product divisions and companies under NEC Display Solutions was especially outstanding, as all three product divisions are performing above our expectations."
Trojan had led the April 1, 2007, merger of the Visual Systems Division of NEC Corporation of America and NEC Display Solutions of America. The joining of these two organizations has brought together technologically advanced lines of desktop and large-screen LCD displays, plasma displays, projectors, and award-winning channel programs. The new organization offers one of the largest visual display product portfolios in the industry.
"The recent merger has solidified NEC Display Solutions' position as the leading provider of displays and display solutions to the North American market," said Trojan. "Though I am going to sincerely miss NEC and all of the people and partners who contributed to our mutual success, I am delighted that I am able to leave the company in a strong position for growth and in the very capable hands of Nobuya Sakagami, the executive management team, and the entire organization."
