Avnet Technology Solutions Names Mike Hurst Vice President and General Manager of Sun Solutions Group; Anna McDermott to Drive Optimization and Partner Engagement Across the Business

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Avnet Technology Solutions, a value-added distributor of enterprise computing products, software and services and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), today announced the promotion of Mike Hurst to vice president and general manager of its Sun Solutions group in the Americas. Anna McDermott, senior vice president for Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas, will now drive the optimization of Avnet Technology Solutions' business and strategy across all of its business groups, leveraging all commercial, market and growth opportunities created by the combined Avnet and Access Distribution organization.

In his new leadership role over the Avnet's entire Americas Sun Solutions business, Hurst will report to Fred Cuen, president, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas. During the past 10 years of his outstanding career at Access, Hurst clearly demonstrated his leadership and channel sales expertise, most recently leading the Access' Mature Technologies business, which encompassed the Sun channel business as well as industry leading complementary suppliers. His expanded management role within the Sun business will enable Avnet to further strengthen its position in the Sun channel.

McDermott will continue to report to Cuen, with responsibility for the critical components of optimizing the Avnet Technology Solutions business in the Americas. "Anna's new role is a huge win for the entire business," Cuen added, "With Mike at the helm of the Sun business, Anna will focus her energy and enthusiasm on further driving partner engagement and business optimization across the Technology Solutions enterprise in the Americas."
