Pending Litigation by American Waste Management & Recycling LLC, Against CEMEX Puerto Rico & Canopy Ecoterra

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- American Waste Management & Recycling LLC (AWMR) would like to issue the following statement on the above pending litigation at this time. AWMR will not entertain any telephone or written inquiries from the media or other concerned parties on this or other related matters until further notice.
It is hereby confirmed that AWMR is pursuing legal action against CEMEX Puerto Rico and Canopy Ecoterra in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. Additional information on the pending litigation may be obtained via the complaint filed in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico by AWMR. This Complaint is a matter of public record and fully addresses all pertinent issues pertaining to the nature of the litigation. With reference to the criminal investigation pertaining to this litigation, AWMR confirms that a criminal complaint has been filed against Canopy Ecoterra and its President, Mr. Ignacio Barsotelli, with CEMEX Puerto Rico named as an additional party of interest in the criminal investigation. Due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation by the CIC of Puerto Rico, AWMR offers no further comments on the criminal complaint. Additional information on the investigation (Docket Number One: 2007-3-75582170, Docket Number Two: 2007-3-55802170) may be directed to CIC, Ponce, Puerto Rico.
With reference to inquiries regarding Canopy Ecoterra, Mr. Barsotelli, and Yo Limpio Puerto Rico, AWMR requests that these inquiries be directed to the concerned parties.
AWMR will issue no further comments or statements at this time on the above criminal and legal complaints. All information disclosed herein is a matter of public record and further information may be obtained through the proper channels.
