Business Wire, August 30, 2007
* BEA, IBM, Sonic, Tibco and webMethods among leading vendors evaluated by independent research firm
* ISO 9001:2000 certified assessment encompassed more than one hundred criteria
* webMethods recognized with top evaluations in three of four categories
RESTON, Va. -- Software AG, a global leader in business infrastructure software, today announced that webMethods Fabric was one of two top-ranked enterprise service bus (ESB) solutions within Yphise's most recent market analysis. The research firm's ISO 9001:2000 certified assessment encompassed more than one hundred criteria with webMethods being awarded top overall scores within three of four categories. Other vendors reviewed by Yphise included BEA Systems, IBM, Progress Software's Sonic subsidiary, and Tibco. Yphise distinguishes itself via a rigorous methodology for assessing the projected benefits that evaluated solutions are likely to deliver within real-world implementations.
"The webMethods ESB offering delivers significant value in terms of improved business agility and IT's enhanced alignment with business goals," said Laurent Mynard, Research Analyst, Yphise, Inc. "It also delivered best-in-class performance in terms of the overall reliability and the security of the solution."
Within their evaluation, Yphise praised webMethods for the maturity of the product, its comprehensiveness and its ease-of-use. The product's metadata registry, graphical user interface and activity monitoring features were highlighted as being particularly noteworthy: "It relies on a metadata registry to improve the impact analysis of a change. It provides graphics to understand the service use and volume over time. Among the assessed products, only webMethods Fabric helps not only simulate the change but also reduce its impact. The competition may be at the same level in one dimension or the other, but not in both."
"As a comprehensive ESB solution, webMethods addresses the need for service-based interoperability and orchestration as well as more traditional integration requirements with equal ease. This flexibility, coupled with proven, best-in-class performance, positions us as a very scalable and cost-effective solution for long-term requirements," said Dr. Peter Kurpick, President and CPO webMethods Business Division and member of the board of Software AG.
