CompTIA Convergence+ Certification Now Available in German
Business Wire, August 30, 2007
OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. -- The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), the leading trade association for the world's information technology (IT) industry, announced today that a German-language version of its CompTIA Convergence certification exam is now available worldwide.
The German-language version of the CompTIA Convergence exam was launched with the support and input of several organizations and companies, including Avaya GmbH & Co. KG, a global leading provider of business communications applications, systems and services; Siemens Enterprise Communications, a communication and collaboration solutions provider to private and public sector organizations around the world; and Educomp([R]), a leading technology driven education company.
The CompTIA Convergence certification is a significant tool in supporting voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) deployments, especially as the availability of broadband has grown and the adoption of VoIP in Europe has increased.
"The demand for skilled technicians is increasing, especially with the success of VoIP in Europe," said Frauke Vossebein, Avaya Professional Certification Manager. "The CompTIA Convergence exam translation, as a localized version, is very beneficial for our German speaking audience groups and will support us as a proof of evidence that we have the properly qualified professionals we need."
CompTIA Convergence validates knowledge and skills in solutions where data communications, telephony/telecommunications, video and broadcast multimedia technologies are combined in a single IP-based delivery system. It is an international-recognized, vendor-neutral credential that certifies a technician's ability to design, implement and manage both data and voice networking.
"Today's technology professional must expand their knowledge base beyond data-only or voice-only capabilities and equip themselves with a multiplicity of skills to support and maintain the new methods of communicating made possible by convergence technology solutions," said John Venator, president and chief executive officer, CompTIA.
The German-language CompTIA Convergence exam is available through Pearson VUE and Prometric testing centers worldwide. The exam code is CT0-101. For more information on CompTIA Convergence , please visit http://certification.comptia.org/convergence/.
