Contributes Expertise in Integrated Mobile Device Management
SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- InnoPath, the leader in Integrated Mobile Device Management (iMDM), today announced that it has joined the LiMo Foundation, an independent, not-for-profit entity aiming to increase the adoption of Linux within the mobile industry, whose founders are Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Panasonic Mobile Communications, Samsung Electronics, and Vodafone. InnoPath has taken a contributing role by becoming a member of the LiMo Requirements Council.
"As a member of the LiMo Foundation, InnoPath is providing leadership to a global alliance driving the future of mobile device technology," says John Fazio, InnoPath President and CEO. "Carriers increasingly demand mobile device management for three applications: customer care, security, and software management. InnoPath, with its understanding of the end-to-end MDM environment, is uniquely equipped to help the LiMo Foundation develop its mobile client to satisfy those requirements."
InnoPath's contributions will follow its impressive track record worldwide. The company has implemented its solutions at top-tier carriers, including ATT, KDDI, Sprint, Softbank Mobile, and device manufacturers that include Kyocera, LG, NEC, Panasonic, Pantech & Curitel, Samsung, Sanyo, Sharp, Sony Ericsson, and Toshiba. A recently released report1 by IDC identifies InnoPath Software as the strongest MDM vendor in its ability to gain market share and alignment with market opportunities.
"We welcome InnoPath to the LiMo Foundation and value the company's expertise in Mobile Device Management," said Morgan Gillis, Executive Director of the LiMo Foundation. "InnoPath will play an integral role in establishing the Limo Foundation at the center of open, transparent, scalable ecosystem, spanning application and middleware developer communities and encouraging the creation of compelling, differentiated and enhanced consumer experiences."
Industry analysts predict that the mobile software and services market will exceed $6 billion by 2009, with open platforms as the fastest growing segment. Handsets that support the LiMo platform are expected to reach the market by 2008.
