Smith Barney Appoints Julian Clark as Managing Director of Global Stock Plan Services

NEW YORK -- Smith Barney announced today that Julian Clark, former President and CEO of Mellon Investor Services, has been appointed Managing Director of Smith Barney Global Stock Plan Services. In his new role, Mr. Clark will oversee the administration of equity compensation plans for more than 700 corporate clients. He will report directly to David Schrohe, head of Smith Barney's Corporate Client Group.

Mr. Clark has more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry. During his nearly 14 years served with Mellon Financial Corporation, he held several leadership roles, most recently as President and CEO of Mellon Investor Services, leading the growth and building the success of the company's shareholder and employee plan administration services. Under his leadership, the organization experienced exceptional revenue growth. Prior to joining Mellon in the U.S., he was President and CEO of the RM Trust Company in Toronto, Canada.
With a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University in Ottawa, Mr. Clark also attained the Canadian Chartered Accountant designation while working with Peat Marwick, Mitchell in Toronto.
