g8wave Partners with AEI and Alchemedia to Bring Metallica to Giant TV Screens and Mobile Community in Japan
Business Wire, Dec 17, 2007
BOSTON -- g8wave Holdings, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: GEWV.OB) ("g8wave" or the "Company"), an integrated mobile media company with offices in Boston and London, is at the forefront of selling mobile content to the Japanese market. Today, the Company announced its collaboration with AEI and Alchemedia, which is expected to bring Metallica to the giant TV screens of Shibuya and beam down visuals and audio to millions of viewers every day in central Tokyo.
Under the terms of the agreement, Metallica's music videos will be broadcast with visual prompts and audio promotions encouraging fans to buy a selection of content especially made for mobile. These include: music videos, video ringtones and other exclusive content from the world's biggest metal band.
Brad Mindich, g8wave's Chief Strategy Officer, said, "we all know that Metallica has a huge following globally, but the Japanese market, with its advanced technologies and consumer desire to test new mobile applications, allows us the opportunity to expand the band's reach and influence even further. Plus, given that this is such a unique approach with mobile, it is only fitting that one of the greatest bands is the first to do this."
"We are very excited to bring this superb Metallica material onto mobile in Japan for the very first time. The launch on video billboards in Shibuya will reach over three million people a day," said Anne Marina Dickinson, Director AEI.
