UMB Scout Funds' James Moffett Named Finalist for Morningstar's 2007 International-Stock Manager of the Year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- James Moffett, lead portfolio manager for the UMB Scout International Fund (UMBWX), has been named a finalist for the Morningstar 2007 International Manager of the Year award. Moffett is among five finalists for the award that will be announced on CNBC and Morningstar.com on January 3, 2008.
The award recognizes fund managers who not only had an outstanding calendar year, but who have also built solid long-term results for their Fund upon a distinctive strategy. In addition, Morningstar maintains that these nominees and their fund companies "treat their fundholders well from a stewardship perspective."

James Moffett has served as lead portfolio manager of the UMB Scout International Fund since the Fund's inception in 1993. In addition, Moffett's approach of long-term investing and not chasing short-term trends contributed to the Fund's success, and allowed the Fund to surpass its benchmark, on average, over the past ten years.
