A.M. Best Withdraws Ratings of Mayflower National Life Insurance Company Due to Legal Entity Merger

OLDWICK, N.J. -- A.M. Best Co. has withdrawn the financial strength rating of B (Good) and the issuer credit rating of "bbb" of Mayflower National Life Insurance Company (MNL) (Indianapolis, IN) and assigned the company a category NR-5 (Not Formally Followed). MNL had operated as a subsidiary of Assurant, Inc. (New York, New York) [NYSE: AIZ].

Effective December 1, 2007, MNL was merged into an Assurant, Inc. subsidiary, American Memorial Life Insurance Company (Rapid City, SD).
