Contract is one of the Department's largest, most active open-ended contracts

LOWELL, Mass. -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has awarded TRC a $2 million contract to provide construction inspection and materials acceptance testing services on a Task Order basis. Under the contract, which is one of PennDOT's largest and most active open ended contracts, TRC will deploy construction inspectors to monitor various types of construction infrastructure projects from local roadways to high speed expressways such as Interstate 95.

"We at TRC are both honored and excited to continue to provide construction inspection services across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania," said Scott Gallaher, Principal, Construction, Engineering and Inspection for TRC. "We believe these contracts are a perfect fit technically and economically for TRC and PennDOT. With our diverse background and substantial resources we're able to be responsive to these on-call contracts."

The types of inspection work anticipated include surface milling, bituminous resurfacing, roadway widening, line striping, shoulder reconstruction, bridge replacement, bridge reconstruction, guard rail removal and installation, and drainage improvements. Work is expected to begin in spring 2008.
