Tropos Networks Expands Executive Team, Adds Roy Earle as VP of Professional Services

Field Operations Veteran Joins Stellar Executive Team to Ensure Rapid Deployment of Large Citywide Networks
SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Tropos Networks, the market leader for metro-scale wireless mesh network systems, today announced the addition of Roy Earle to its world-class executive management team. Mr. Earle will serve as Tropos Networks' Vice President of Professional Services. In his new role, Mr. Earle will be responsible for rollout and support of Tropos MetroMesh networks around the world.
Mr. Earle brings more than 25 years of operations and management experience to Tropos Networks. Most recently, Mr. Earle was Vice President of Design and Development for Equinix, a provider of colocation facilities and services. At Equinix, Mr. Earle was responsible for the design and construction of all of the Equinix Internet Business Exchanges. He was responsible for a $450 million capital build over two years and was a key member of Equinix's successful IPO team.
Prior to Equinix, Mr. Earle served as Vice President of Operations at Etec Systems, a leader in the semiconductor equipment industry. During his tenure at Etec, Mr. Earle ramped factory output from sales of $85 million to $230 million per year.
Mr. Earle also held various operating positions during his seven years at Siliconix and served at General Electric for eight years in engineering and management positions both in Ireland and the U.S.
Mr. Earle holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from University College Dublin, Ireland and a Master Degree in Material Science from the University of Sheffield, U.K.
