Innovasic Semiconductor® to Provide Replacement ICs for the Intel® 186/188 Family
Business Wire, Feb 12, 2007
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Innovasic Semiconductor, a leader in replacement integrated circuit (IC) and microcontroller solutions, today announced that they are going to provide replacements for Intel's 186/188 family of microcontroller products. The announcement is the first step in the company's development of a roadmap in response to Intel's end of life (EOL) notice in July 2006.
"As a result of our survey and discussions with key customers, it became clear that the 186/188 product line was in the highest demand," said Keith Prettyjohns, CEO of Innovasic Semiconductor. "We are now committed to the development of these products and will work with our key partners to ensure that their products perform flawlessly with our new devices."
All the chips will be available in current conventional and RoHS compliant packaging. The devices will be 100 percent form, fit and function compatible with the original. The IA186EB and IA188EB will be the first samples in the family, available in Q4, 2007.
