Oxford Semiconductor Offers Sourcery G++ from CodeSourcery for First Network Connectivity Controller
Business Wire, Feb 13, 2007
MILPITAS, Calif. -- Oxford Semiconductor has announced that CodeSourcery's Sourcery G [TM] development tools are to be included in software development kits for its first network connectivity controller, the OXETHU954. Sourcery G provides an Eclipse-based integrated development environment and the entire GNU Toolchain, comprising ISO C/C compilers, assembler, linker, runtime libraries and source- and assembly-level debugger.
Featuring an embedded ARM9 processor, memory management unit and Linux operating system, the OXETHU954 is Oxford's first connectivity platform to offer Ethernet, PCI, USB2.0 and UART connectivity in a single package. The chip aims to greatly simplify the design of device networking products in factory automation, point-of-sale and building management applications.
Adrian Braine, Oxford Semiconductor's Marketing Manager of Connectivity Solutions, said, "A key design criteria in the development of the network connectivity controller was that it would be backed by the most comprehensive and integrated Linux development environment. This has been achieved and CodeSourcery's tools play a crucial role in ensuring customers' time-to-market is kept as short as possible."
"We're very pleased that Sourcery G will be shipping in Oxford Semiconductor's development kits," said Mark Mitchell, CodeSourcery's Chief Sourcerer. "Oxford Semiconductor's network connectivity controller offers a uniquely rich set of network peripherals around a powerful ARM core and we're confident that our development tools will help Oxford's customers take full advantage."
