Business Wire, Feb 14, 2007
Program Will Place RemoteNurse[TM] Units in Patient Homes Throughout Columbus Area
CONYERS, Ga. -- Interim HealthCare in Ohio, part of award-winning national healthcare organization Interim HealthCare, has selected WebVMC, creator of the RemoteNurse[TM] mobile technology system, to provide its Web-based patient monitoring system for patients served by their franchise operations in the Columbus, Ohio area. The announcement was made by Thomas L. Caldwell, Vice President of Sales for Interim HealthCare of Ohio and Bill Behnke, chief development officer for WebVMC.
The initial program for the RemoteNurse units will start in February 2007. The units will be placed in homes of individual patients who will be monitored by an Interim HealthCare nurse case manager.
According to Caldwell, WebVMC was clearly the best choice to meet the multiple needs of their business due to its Web-based technology, ease of use and ability to be used on multiple platforms. He also cited the common goals of both companies as a key factor in the company's decision making.
"For us, it was not just about the technology; it was about the people behind the technology," said Caldwell. "WebVMC's visionary philosophy about healthcare, and the technology needed to support it, is perfectly in line with our company's mission to improve the lives of our patients by providing quality healthcare services. We feel we have found an ideal partner we can work with now and in the future."
WebVMC has provided successful solutions to hospitals and home healthcare providers across the country and is a pioneer in Web-based telehealth technology. Sheppard believes that using software-based solutions to monitor patients is the way healthcare business will be done in the future.
"Remote disease management is a new and effective way to measure and monitor key vital factors in the comfort of the resident's living situation, and to give physicians and nurses access to this information right away so they can identify any changes that need to be addressed," said Scott Sheppard, president and chief technology officer for WebVMC.
"We made our program interactive, easy to use, and low cost, which means it can be used to manage a person's health anytime, anywhere, and be accessed by any member of the medical support team," adds Behnke.
