Terralink Secure[TM] Will Empower Users to Monitor and Filter Unwanted Internet Traffic Over Their Satellite Communications

OSLO, Norway & ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Telenor Satellite Services, a subsidiary of Telenor of Norway (Oslo Stock Exchange:TEL and NASDAQ:TELN) today previewed Terralink Secure[TM], the first in a series of secure networking value added services to enable users to more effectively monitor and filter security attacks and unwanted Internet content over satellite communications.

Telenor currently anticipates commercial launch of this new secure service during the second quarter of 2007.

Terralink Secure is designed to stop unwanted traffic and content coming from the Internet to a user's satellite terminal before the content enters the satellite portion of the end-to-end connection. Terralink Secure differs from client-installed firewalls and security programs running on the user's PC, which can stop unwanted traffic after it has passed over the satellite portion of the connection. As a network based service, Terralink Secure results in a more efficient use of the satellite link both in terms of throughput and cost.

"Managed security services are becoming very common for terrestrial Internet service providers to protect customers from offensive attacks and unwanted content," said Arvid B. Johannessen, director of Telenor's Product Development and Innovation Group. "Terralink Secure is one of the first services of its kind to protect customers' satellite communications in the same manner."

Terralink Secure is a unique value added service from Telenor Satellite Services available for use with Telenor's complete portfolio of Global IP-based services. Terralink[TM], Telenor's proprietary IP networking platform and Global Points of Presence (PoP) Network enables Telenor IP services to perform at a higher level of capability than comparable services offered by other providers. With Terralink's leased line service, Telenor can guarantee up to 256 kbps bandwidth for BGAN customers using IP streaming services. Content is also secure as the leased line enables data throughput to bypass the public Internet. This is a business critical capability for data-intense users in the media and government markets.
