CTE Declares Dividend for 2007 First Quarter
Business Wire, Feb 22, 2007
DALLAS, Pa. -- Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises, Inc. ("CTE") [Nasdaq:CTCO], today announced that its Board of Directors has declared a dividend of $.50 per share for the 2007 first quarter. The quarterly dividend will be paid on March 30, 2007, to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 9, 2007. CTE shareholders should, however, be aware that this dividend will not be paid to them in the event the proposed acquisition of CTE by Citizens Communications Company ("Citizens") [NYSE:CZN] closes on or prior to March 9, 2007, the record date of the dividend. While the parties expect that the merger may close as early as March 8, 2007, the merger is still subject to certain customary closing conditions, including the approval of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, which may be obtained as early as March 1, 2007. If the approval is obtained on March 1, 2007, CTE would anticipate that the transaction will close on March 8, 2007. There can be no assurance, however, that the required consents or conditions will be obtained, or satisfied, by March 1, 2007, or at all, and consequently there can be no assurance that the merger will be consummated on March 8, 2007, or at all.
