Announce Foote Hospital as First Integrated Deployment
SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Meru Networks, the global leader in wireless infrastructure solutions that enable the All-Wireless Enterprise, and InnerWireless, the leading provider of in-building wireless solutions, today announced that InnerWireless has joined the Meru Networks VoIP Unplugged Program. InnerWireless and Meru have completed extensive interoperability testing between their products, have begun to jointly market and sell their solutions and have secured their first joint customer, Foote Hospital in Jackson, Michigan.
Meru's patented virtual cell-based wireless IP technology and seamless single channel architecture is setting the benchmark for interoperability, high-performance converged voice and data and geographical coverage within the enterprise. When teamed with the InnerWireless unified wireless platform, which provides continuous, reliable in-building coverage for a full range of wireless services, devices and applications, the resulting solution is ideal for environments with high density and a wide variety of mission critical devices and applications, such as in hospitals and other clinical settings.
This combined solution offers healthcare organizations unprecedented quality and reliability of service, enabling predictable performance for life-critical applications and allowing the organization to improve patient care. The solution is also cost-effective and lets organizations lower administrative costs, meet regulatory requirements and effectively respond to government mandates.
The first shared deployment from Meru and InnerWireless is Foote Hospital. "In the hospital we have a large number of disparate devices that all need to work with our wireless network," said Rick Warren, vice president and CIO for Foote Hospital "These include cell phones, wireless badges, Wi-Fi enabled phones, mobile carts, infusion pumps and much more. With the Meru Wireless LAN (WLAN) and the InnerWireless unified wireless platform, we have the various frequencies we need everywhere in the hospital for all of these devices. Other solutions weren't able to provide us with the guaranteed coverage and wireless network stability we needed for this environment."
"Meru has established itself as a leader in the new generation of pervasive, converged voice and data wireless LANs that healthcare organizations are rapidly adopting," said Chris Click, vice president of marketing, InnerWireless. "Combining Meru's single channel WLAN System with our unified broadband wireless distribution platform gives hospitals and healthcare facilities a powerful, wireless networking solution, with guaranteed coverage that can greatly enhance their productivity, improve patient care and reduce costs."
"The partnership with InnerWireless combines our two companies' core competencies, allowing us to deliver the best wireless solutions to healthcare organizations and expand upon the success Meru has already achieved in this market," said Ken Creager, senior director of strategic markets, Meru Networks. "Meru's ability to deliver a seamless, single channel architecture that provides capacity, performance and quality of service, combined with the InnerWireless platform's guarantee of coverage provides a high value proposition for the healthcare enterprise."
Meru's partnership with Innerwireless is part of a best in class approach to supply seamless communications and collaboration solutions to the healthcare enterprise. Meru's products are synergistic with the InnerWireless "Layered Architecture," both built for pervasive coverage, network optimization and performance as well as ease-of-use.
InnerWireless joins an already impressive list of Meru VoIP Unplugged Partners, including Fujitsu, Juniper Networks, Ascom, SpectraLink and Vocera, among many others.
