Business Wire, Feb 27, 2007
Includes 5X faster Excel exporting, Microsoft SharePoint[R] collaboration, exporting to Open XML spreadsheets and more
CHELMSFORD, Mass. -- Datawatch Corporation (NASDAQ-CM: DWCH), a leader in the rapidly growing Enterprise Information market, today announces general availability of Monarch Version 9.0, the latest release of the Company's report mining and analysis solution. In 1991, Datawatch pioneered report-mining technology and is the recognized world leader in helping users unlock vast amounts of critical data buried in reports and other static business documents. With Monarch Version 9.0, Datawatch continues to innovate, and introduces key enhancements that allow companies to extract maximum value from report and data content, and immediately transform that information into meaningful data to solve critical business problems.
"When we sat down two years ago to map out the next version of Monarch, the decision where to start was easy. According to our surveys, over 95% of Monarch customers use Monarch with Microsoft Excel," said John Kitchen, Senior Vice President, Desktop and Server Solutions for Datawatch. "Dramatically speeding up Excel exports as well as allowing users to virtually eliminate manual work in Excel with Monarch V9 was a given. But as we learned from our surveys, support calls, online forums and direct conversations with thousands of customers it was clear that users wanted much more; increased analytical power, collaborative tools, enhanced report mining, improved PDF capabilities, integration with SharePoint, new database functionality and last, but not least, the ability to run on new Windows Vista. With Monarch V9, we delivered," added Kitchen.
Monarch allows business users to easily extract, analyze and export data from existing reports--without programming--putting an end to flipping through thick reports and re-keying data into spreadsheets, or waiting for IT to provide access to needed data. Monarch Pro offers all of the functionality of Monarch, plus allows users to combine and import data from additional data sources, such as databases or spreadsheets, as well as extract data from HTML and PDF files.
"We are especially interested in the new Excel related features in Monarch V9, including exporting Monarch summary data with sub-totals and grand totals as Excel formulas," said Jon Donohoo, Western Manager of Operations for Loomis, Fargo & Co., a leader in cash handling services. "Monarch V9 is a leap forward on many fronts: new Excel functionality, new collaboration tools, and new report mining power to mine data from more complex reports. Monarch V9 will expand our productivity even further," added Donohoo.
KEY FEATURES AND ENHANCEMENTS
MONARCH V9 IS A "MUST-HAVE" FOR EXCEL USERS.
* Enhanced Exporting to Excel - The Monarch V9 new Excel exporting engine runs up to 5X faster than previous versions.
* Summary Export to Excel - Formulas, outlining and conditional formatting have been implemented for summary export to Excel.
* Open XML Spreadsheet Support - Monarch V9 can export Excel 2007 OpenXML spreadsheets (xlsx), allowing users to take full advantage of the new functionality and dramatically increased spreadsheet capacity of Excel 2007.
* Summary Sub-totals and Grand Totals Export to Excel as Formulas - Monarch V9 now exports the values and formulas, allowing users to make revisions to Excel files without worrying about sub-total/grand total errors.
* Excel Autofilter - Users have the option to automatically invoke the Excel AutoFilter when they open an exported file in Excel.
MONARCH V9 TAKES PDF MINING AND PUBLISHING TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
