Business Wire, Feb 6, 2007
BELLEVUE, Wash. -- BSQUARE (Nasdaq:BSQR) has delivered a Windows[R] Mobile 5.0 SDIO client driver utilizing its high-performance SDIO Hx software stack to NXP Semiconductors to enable the chip maker to demonstrate the superior data throughput of its industry-leading, low-power Wireless LAN (WLAN) solutions over an internal SDIO bus. NXP Semiconductors is targeting this high-performance, low-power Wi-Fi solution at Windows([R]) Mobile OEMs looking to address end-customer demand for real-time audio and video content delivery over WLAN networks to mobile devices. Through their partnership with BSQUARE, named Microsoft([R]) Windows Embedded Systems Integrator of the Year for 2006, NXP Semiconductors plans to accelerate the adoption of their low-power WLAN products by Windows Mobile OEMs. These same OEMs will then be able to quickly and easily use BSQUARE's high-performance SDIO Hx software stack as they deploy new devices to market.
"By running BSQUARE's SDIO client driver in conjunction with our industry-leading low-power WLAN solutions, we can demonstrate best-in-class WLAN performance on Windows Mobile based client devices. Our solution enables our customers to deliver rich and satisfying real-time wireless multimedia experiences on mobile and portable consumer devices, like SmartPhones and Portable Media Players, without sacrificing battery life," said Paul Marino, Vice President and General Manager, Business Line Connectivity, NXP Semiconductors.
NXP Semiconductors will demonstrate the performance of its BGW211 802.11g WLAN product running the Windows Mobile 5.0 SDIO client driver from BSQUARE with BSQUARE's SDIO Hx software stack at 3GSM in Barcelona, Spain, in Hall 8, Booth 110, February 12th through the 15th, 2007.
