Convergence Ethanol Announces Election of New Board Member

Business Wire, Feb 6, 2007

LOS ANGELES -- Convergence Ethanol[TM] Inc. (OTCBB:CETH) announced today the election of John C. Fitzgerald to the company's board of directors.

This election fills the vacancy left by a November 2006 resignation and brings the board to the quota called for in company by-laws.

Fitzgerald is a financial adviser and investment banker with over 25 years' leadership experience in project finance. He has directed over 1,700 financings, raising in excess of $16.3 billion for diverse projects, including alternative energy projects such as waste-to-energy, hydroelectric and electrical power distribution systems; and non-energy projects for factories, hospitals, fire stations, schools and parks.

Fitzgerald has served as chief financial officer for the city of Inglewood, CA; vice president of public financing for both White Weld & Co. and Paine Webber; and managing director for Merrill Lynch's Western Region municipal finance office. He co-founded and served for 16 years as managing director of Seidler-Fitzgerald Public Finance, and in 2002 he founded his current municipal finance firm. He received his MBA from Cornell University, with an emphasis in finance and transportation.

"John is eminently qualified to serve on the Convergence Ethanol board, and the company is very happy to welcome him," said James A. Latty, PhD, PE, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Convergence Ethanol. "Given the breadth of his alternative energy investment banking experience, his financial reporting and analysis skills and his integrity, John's strategic-level financial advice will be invaluable as the company expands in biorenewable energy project development."

The board's second outside member, Fitzgerald will oversee board committees including the financial reporting review and executive compensation committees.

Steven Newsom was elected in October 2006 as the first outside board member. Newsom practices general civil law in Texas, with a focus on real estate development transactions. He is a licensed patent attorney and has also previously earned both an MBA and an engineering degree.

Dr. Latty, the board's sole inside member, earned his doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and has over 25 years' experience leading energy and environmental businesses.

With the contributions of all its members, the Convergence Ethanol board possesses appropriate financial, technical, business and legal skills in order to guide the company as it fulfills its promise to build the world's largest synthetic-process woodchip-to-ethanol plant.

Fitzgerald and Newsom, both elected to multi-year terms, will be introduced to shareholders at an upcoming shareholder's meeting, which is soon to be announced.

California-based Convergence Ethanol is a biorenewable energy project developer and an ISO 9001:2000-certified provider of engineered products and systems to the energy industry. The company mission is to cost-effectively support the energy industry's production of cleaner-burning fuels.
