Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Selects RMI's High-Performance Power-Optimized Alchemy Au1200 Processor for Newly Announced Devices

SoC Solution From Raza Microelectronics, Inc. Offers Integration Necessary for T-DMB Mobile TV Application and Digital Photo Frame
LAS VEGAS -- Raza Microelectronics, Inc. (RMI([R])), a leading supplier of processors for communications and consumer applications, today announced that Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a global leader in semiconductor, telecommunication, digital media and digital convergence technologies (Samsung), has selected the RMI Alchemy Au1200 Processor from Raza Microelectronics, Inc. for its Digital Media Broadcast Mobile TV (DMB-TV) and for its Windows-Based Digital Photo Frame.
The LMD10A-51W DMB-TV is based on a Linux operating system (O/S) and has a 10" display with 800 x 480 resolution and supports standard video (WMV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and Xvid.) The SPF-71V Digital Photo Frame from Samsung contains a 7" TFT-LCD screen with 800 x 480 resolution, built-in 802.11g Wi-Fi capability, slots for SD, MMC, MS, and XD Memory Cards. The device has a USB port and supports MP3 for audio, MPEG-1, WMV9, and MPEG-4 for video as well as JPEG, BMP, and GIF for pictures.

The RMI Alchemy[TM] Au1200, the processor of choice for full-featured Personal Media Players (PMP), navigation and mobile TV devices, is a high-performance, low-power processor capable of delivering a rich multi-media experience to end users. The powerful processor enables users to download media quickly and enjoy DVD-quality video efficiently delivered at full standard definition resolution, with several video format options. The Alchemy Au1200 processor gives system designers an easy-to-use, simple solution to create full-featured portable solutions with greatly reduced design cycle times. The System-on-a-Chip (SoC) architecture integrates most peripheral components resulting in a significant reduction in total bill of materials.
