Wipro Launches Value Chain Accelerators Based on Microsoft Platform for Retail Technology at NRF'07 Retail's Big Show

NEW YORK -- Wipro Technologies, the Global IT Services Division of Wipro Limited (NYSE:WIT), today announced the launch of three value chain accelerators for Retail technologies in alliance with Microsoft and several other Independent Software Vendors. Wipro Retail accelerators, as showcased within Microsoft's booth at NRF, depict customizable frameworks based on the Microsoft platform that will help retailers visualize daily operations end-to-end.

Wipro, through its deep domain knowledge and proven technical and system integration expertise has the ability to seamlessly integrate the Microsoft portfolio of products to create unique retail solutions. Wipro's retail accelerators - Corporate Portal, Store Manager KPI and Sales and Marketing Analytics - are architected on Microsoft server and client technology: Windows Server 2003 R2, Exchange Server 2007, SQL Server 2005, Office Share Point Server 2007, Live Communications Server 2005 and Office Enterprise 2007.

Central to showcasing Wipro retail accelerators in Microsoft's booth is a collaborative retail enterprise portal. The retail enterprise portal allows stores, distribution centers and teams across an organization to easily search, share and modify information from a central point of access. Store Manger KPI and Sales and Marketing Analytics accelerators further demonstrate how technology can be used in developing a successful, collaborative environment for people ready business.

The Store Manger KPI accelerator is a dashboard that provides consolidated information such as comparable stores sales, margin analysis, line busting indicators, average basket value, etc. Critical alerts are built into the dashboard to draw the attention of stores personnel to events that require their attention. The information provides an easy way for retail store managers to keep a finger on the store pulse, while still focusing their attention on other tasks.
