Spotfire DXP 1.1 Accelerates Insights That Enable an Information Advantage
SOMERVILLE, Mass. -- Spotfire, Inc. (http://www.spotfire.com/), the Information Insight Company(SM), today announced the latest version of its enterprise analytics platform, Spotfire DXP 1.1. With new visual, interactive analyses -- including box plots, a data relationship finder, a metrics summary table, and the ability to save the workflow and state of an analysis to share or "bookmark" as part of a guided workflow -- Spotfire DXP 1.1 allows business professionals to quickly discover new insights in information that those who rely on traditional business intelligence software can miss.
"The pace of the business challenges of our pharmaceutical customers requires them to quickly ask and answer questions of critical data and get immediate answers - static reports don't allow for this," said George Schoofs, consultant for Consilium Consultants. "Spotfire DXP puts the ability to do an in-depth analysis in their hands - with unprecedented speed and adaptability."
Louella Fernandes, Principal Analyst at Quocirca, said: "The market for BI solutions is opening up massively, especially in the enterprise space, for ordinary workers and managers to use analytics and visualization to help manage and improve company and team performance. However, many of the bigger BI vendors are struggling to impact this wider market as their offerings are still complex and difficult for desktop users to understand and use. The provision of a more graphically-oriented front end, providing powerful visualization and interactive analytic functionality, as with Spotfire's portfolio, will enable ordinary business users to benefit at a departmental and team level."
Specific new features and enhancements in DXP 1.1 include:
* Bookmarks -- a new dimension to Guided Analytics, bookmarks are a simple, effective way to capture the workflow in an analysis and various states of your analysis so that it can be recalled later by yourself, a colleague, or anyone else with whom you choose to share your analysis.
* Box Plot - this visualization delivers a useful overview of the values in a dataset, "the big picture," with a clean and easy to interpret interface.
* Data Relationships Engine -- automatically finds correlations in your dataset to find the most significant relationships from among data attributes and give results that are easy to browse and investigate further.
* Metrics Summary Table -- useful for sifting through many columns of data to find those with the most interesting aggregate characteristics, such as those with the highest average or lowest sum.
* International Language Support - driven by worldwide demand, Spotfire will be releasing localized versions of DXP, enabling business users to create analytic applications in their native language. The German language version is the first available to the market.
"Winning in any profession increasingly depends on using information to your advantage," said Christopher Ahlberg, CEO, Spotfire. "With Spotfire DXP 1.1, we're delivering new ways of interacting with information and collaborating with teammates that will lead our customers to new insights and an information advantage over others who rely on traditional business intelligence."
Today's announcement builds on the strong industry recognition and customer demand for the Spotfire DXP Enterprise Analytics platform, introduced in July 2006. The platform is rapidly being adopted in numerous industries and across countless business processes to deliver new and actionable insights in information at enterprises around the world. New capabilities in Spotfire DXP 1.1 further extend the product's value for financial services, sales and marketing and semiconductor analytics applications.
