Business Wire, Jan 17, 2007
* Ultra Low-Power PolarPro and Eclipse II FGPAs Now Available in 6x6 mm and 8x8 mm Packages With Up to 196 Balls
* Optimized Solution for Space and Power Constrained Applications
SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- QuickLogic[R] Corporation (NASDAQ:QUIK), the lowest power programmable logic leader, today announced that devices in the PolarPro[TM] and Eclipse[TM] II FPGA families are now available in 6x6 mm and 8x8 mm small form factor packages. The advanced packaging meets the aggressive requirements of handheld electronics integrating storage, wireless, mobile TV and other emerging technologies.
The PolarPro family members, QL1P075, QL1P100, QL1P200 and QL1P300 and the Eclipse II QL8150 are available in 8x8 mm packages while the Eclipse II QL8050 is packaged in a 6x6 mm package. Designers using these new small form factor packages can not only optimize the overall system cost and battery life, but they also benefit greatly by integrating more functionality into significantly less board space. Both the QuickWorks[R] 9.8.2 design tools and System General programming tools support these new packages.
"Handheld device manufacturers continue to have time-to-market, cost, battery life and PCB area constraints. QuickLogic continues to deliver innovative solutions that solve these fundamental challenges," said Brian Faith, QuickLogic's Senior Director of Marketing. "In short, we've made it our goal to address the critical issues of the portable designer."
