3M Library Systems to Offer Comprise Technologies Software
Business Wire, Jan 19, 2007
Addition of Access Management Software a Natural Extension to 3M's Existing Line of Information Management Products
SEATTLE -- As a convenience to libraries, 3M Library Systems now makes popular Smart Access Manager (SAM) software from Comprise Technologies, Inc. available for sale to its customers, it was announced here today at the American Library Association's annual Mid-Winter Meeting, held at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center.
"This extra service expands the depth and breadth of products 3M offers our customers globally," said Rory Yanchek, business manager, 3M Library Systems. "Smart Access Manager is a favorite among public libraries and can be complementary to the other productivity and security solutions we offer libraries, so it makes sense to offer SAM along with our own products."
SAM provides Web-based administration of library PCs, and enables staff to access data, record payments, view computer activity, log customers on and off, send messages, extend sessions and shut down PCs, all from their own desks.
"We are particularly excited about the opportunity to offer our products in new markets with 3M and look forward to making our mutual customer's technology investments a success," said Dan Curtin, company president, Comprise Technologies, Inc.
