TouchPrint[TM] Enhanced Definition 4100 Slap & Roll Live Scan Orders Represent an Aggregate Value Exceeding $4 Million

STAMFORD, Conn. -- L-1 Identity Solutions, Inc. (NYSE:ID), a leading supplier of identity solutions and services, announced today that it has received several large purchase orders for the Identix TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 4100 Slap & Roll Live Scan with an aggregate value of over $4 million. Two-thirds of the live scan systems under these purchase orders were shipped in the Company's fourth quarter ended December 31, 2006, with the remainder expected to be shipped this month.

These orders were received from various international customers and federal agencies of the United States Government. The international orders will be deployed for government applications. The federal agency purchase will be used to facilitate background checks on government and contract employees as mandated under Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12).

"Initial feedback from our customers confirms that the TouchPrint 4100 addresses civil market usability requirements making it ideal for unassisted or semi-assisted fingerprint capture," remarked Robert V. LaPenta, Chairman, President and CEO of L-1. "We are pleased with the confidence that both international and domestic customers have placed in us by quickly adopting and validating the unique features and benefits of the TouchPrint 4100."

The TouchPrint 4100 from Identix was introduced mid- year 2006 to address the need for a small, lightweight, fast and easy-to-use slap and roll live scan fingerprint capture system that can be used for high volume civil applications.

Unlike traditional live scan systems designed primarily for criminal applications and that depend on a trained individual to capture the fingerprint image, the superior technology and design of TouchPrint 4100 devices make it ideal for non-traditional fingerprinting environments, such as border crossings, and passport and visa processing offices.

The TouchPrint 4100 combines all the benefits of the Identix Enhanced Definition imaging technology that goes beyond the minimum FBI Appendix F certification requirements, along with a host of intuitive capture features in a 6 inch by 6 inch footprint. The interface allows a user to easily switch back and forth from slap and roll capture mode. The TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 4100 has no silicon pads to replace or maintain and the unit is sealed for minimal maintenance. Should scratches occur, the platen is easily replaceable in the field.

In addition to its broad range of applicability across both civil and criminal environments, the TouchPrint product line delivers exceptional image quality and reliability for maximum identification results, eliminating the need for fingerprint experts to capture the image. Advanced technologies like Moisture Discriminating Optics[TM] and Clear Trace Imaging[TM] also help to better capture more data, reducing variability across operators and subjects and overcoming the traditional challenges associated with capturing fingerprints in the field (such as sweaty fingers and inconsistent operator roll speeds).
