Business Wire, Jan 23, 2007
FORT WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Chariot Solutions, a technology consulting firm specializing in Java and Open Source software development, is bringing the second annual Emerging Technologies for the Enterprise Conference, www.phillyemergingtech.com, to Philadelphia's Drexel University campus on March 27 and 28. Building on unprecedented success from last year's event, the two-day conference will focus on the growing influence of Java, Open Source, Agile IT and Web 2.0 in the enterprise.
The Philadelphia conference will feature an impressive roster of technology pioneers, as well as business and IT executives. Scheduled speakers represent decades of experience with businesses such as Google, Unisys and the Apache Software Foundation. Key event sponsors include locally-headquartered Comcast, Innovation Philadelphia, Drexel University, Select Greater Philadelphia.
"Java and Open Source have quietly established firm roots throughout enterprise environments - to the point where industry giants are taking notice and taking action," noted Chariot Solutions CEO Michael J. Rappaport. "This conference brings together leading authorities and executives from organizations that have successfully harnessed the power of these technologies to realize financial and competitive advantages."
Divided into two tracks, "Emerging Technologies for the Enterprise" will include a technical track with sessions on Open Source and Java in addition to a business track with executive sessions highlighting the strategic impact of up-and-coming technologies. Attendees will hear case studies, expert advice on everything from licensing to legal considerations, and details on technical advances that are guaranteed to make an impact in 2007.
"This forum brings together several key groups to share their experiences, including practitioners to learn from and interact with industry leaders," said John C. Carrow, senior vice president, Strategic Client Development, and former CIO of Unisys Corporation. "Chariot has taken the lead - not only in helping companies explore and take advantage of new technology trends, but also in bringing such an important event to Philadelphia, where so many technology workers and resources reside."
