Magazine Praises Siemens for Revolutionary Design That Provides Fixed Mobile Convenience with an Intuitive and Rich Communications Experience
BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Siemens Communications, Inc. [NYSE: SI] today announced that its OpenStage family of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) phones has won a 2006 Product of the Year Award from Internet Telephony magazine, a leading publication covering Internet Protocol (IP) communications technologies.
OpenStage phones can improve productivity and streamline workflow by integrating system-wide communications into the most-often used office device: the telephone handset. Available in four models, the phones provide cutting-edge features such as push-button conference calling and support of third-party applications such as Java, HTML and XML. Equipped with Bluetooth and a USB port, the phones include a touch-sensitive wheel, called TouchGuide[TM], that allows easy access to frequently used applications and features. "OpenStage is the missing link that integrates cellular, the Internet and the wired desktop," said Dana Rasmussen, President, Siemens Communications, Inc.
"Each year Internet Telephony magazine recognizes companies that have demonstrated excellence in technological advancement and application refinements," said Rich Tehrani, the magazine's Editor-in-Chief. "Siemens has proven they are committed to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace. We're proud to honor their hard work and accomplishments and look forward to more innovative solutions from them in the future."
The magazine's praise mirrors enthusiastic reviews from OpenStage users. "OpenStage phones have boosted both our productivity and that of our support staff by combining first-rate phone and computer functions into a convenient handset," said Bill Crane, communications manager at Shimano. "We needed a flexible, collaborative, interoperable platform to integrate our communications and OpenStage is a perfect fit. The TouchGuide[TM] interface is incredibly easy to use, a real step forward."
A full list of Product of the Year winners will be published in the February 2007 issue of Internet Telephony magazine and will be featured online at www.itmag.com.
