SAN JOSE, Calif. -- I-O DATA DEVICE USA, INC. (I-O DATA) today announced the immediate availability of the AVeL LinkPlayer2 with support for Intel[R] Viiv[TM] technology. AVeL LinkPlayer2 is a networked digital media and DVD player with support for High Definition (HD 1080i/720p) file formats such as Microsoft Windows Media[R] Video 9 (WMV9) HD, MPEG2-TS, and DivX[R] HD. Now the number one digital media adapter in Japan will enable consumers to access, share, and manage digital media from their Intel Viiv technology-based PCs. The AVeL LinkPlayer2 for Viiv will be sold at PC Mall and other retail stores nationwide with a suggested retail price of US$279.00.

Intel's premier brand for PCs designed for the enjoyment of digital entertainment in the home, Intel Viiv technology allows users to access, share, and manage digital media, including movies, music, games, and photos. The AVeL LinkPlayer2's basic software is designed by Syabas Technology, and has been verified as compatible by the Intel Viiv certification program.

Pricing and Availability

The AVeL LinkPlayer2 Digital Media DVD Player (AVLP2/DVDLAV), with support for Intel Viiv technology, will be available at PC Mall and other nationwide retailers, as well as on the Internet, starting in January 2007. This AVeL LinkPlayer2 has a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of US$279.00.

In order to connect with an Intel Viiv technology-based personal computer, the AVeL LinkPlayer2 requires:

* Intel Viiv technology-based PC with attached Viiv sticker

* Microsoft Windows[R] XP / Vista operating system

* Wired router, cable or DSL modem
