TVI Corporation Receives Order for Surge Capacity Systems from Bethesda Hospital's Emergency Preparedness Partnership
Business Wire, Jan 4, 2007
Partnership Includes the National Institutes for Health, National Naval Medical Center and Suburban Hospital
GLENN DALE, Md. -- TVI Corporation (NASDAQ: TVIN), a global supplier of first receiver and first responder products and provider of event shelter and equipment rentals, today announced it has received an order valued at more than $500,000 from the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) for TVI's surge capacity systems as part of the Bethesda Hospitals' Emergency Preparedness Partnership.
Formed in 2004, the Bethesda Hospitals' Emergency Preparedness Partnership (BHEPP) consists of the National Naval Medical Center, the National Institutes for Health and Suburban Hospital, all based within close proximity in the Bethesda area. The Partnership enables the three medical facilities to synchronize healthcare preparedness in the Bethesda area and to collaborate on disaster response efforts.
"This order, which places TVI's large inflatable shelters and smaller triage shelters in both the NNMC and Suburban Hospital, demonstrates the potential for our surge capacity systems," said TVI Corporation's President and Chief Executive Officer, Richard V. Priddy. "TVI has longstanding relationships with the members of the BHEPP, which represents both the federal and private sectors. It is our hope that the BHEPP's surge capacity network, which employs a number of TVI's products, will become a blueprint for surge capacity systems going forward."
As part of the order, TVI participated in the BHEPP's annual mass casualty exercise by deploying its inflatable surge capacity mobile hospital. The exercise, held every December 7 to commemorate Pearl Harbor Day, tests the BHEPP's current emergency response plans and helps strengthen the Partnership's resources and strategy.
