Interlink Electronics Launches Two New Remote Controls for Windows Vista Media Center in Microsoft Booth at 2007 International CES

Business Wire, Jan 8, 2007

CAMARILLO, Calif. -- Interlink Electronics, Inc. [Pink Sheets:LINK], a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of human interface products and technologies, announced today that it will introduce two new media remote controls at this week's 2007 International CES (Consumer Electronics Show), being held in Las Vegas, NV, January 8th through 11th. SideLink[TM] and Remote Control for Windows Vista Media Center, two new remote controls developed by the company to drive the Windows Vista Media Center, will be showcased in the Microsoft exhibit area of this year's CES, booth 7144.

New SideLink Remote Control

SideLink, from Interlink Electronics, uses both Windows SideShow and Bluetooth([R]) wireless technologies to put control of the Windows Vista Media Center in the palm of your hand from anywhere in the home. Developed as a remote control interface for integration into Windows Vista Media Center products, Interlink's SideLink features a 2.5" color QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) display that enables menu navigation and viewing of Media Center content directly on the remote, independent of the main computer or TV screen. With SideLink, users can select songs, schedule recordings, navigate video clips and photographs, display TV program guides and even browse recorded TV shows -- all right on the remote. SideLink uses Bluetooth RF wireless technology to ensure flawless wireless communications at ranges up to 100'.

"SideLink from Interlink Electronics is the first Media Center remote control to enable Windows Vista SideShow technology," said Bill Mitchell, corporate vice president of the Mobile Platforms Division at Microsoft Corp. "SideLink is an excellent example of how Windows SideShow technology enables new benefits for users of Windows Vista. SideLink and the new Windows Vista Media Center gadgets enable features that users of previous Media Center Editions have requested, but were not possible with a single display."

"When Microsoft originally introduced Windows SideShow, it was positioned as a technology to enable a secondary display on the notebook computer," said Jim Reisteter, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Interlink Electronics, Inc. "Our SideLink remote breaks this secondary display free from the notebook and puts it in your hand surrounded by a full-featured Media Center remote control. It has the potential to control not just notebooks and desktops, but to drive your entire entertainment experience. Initially we will be offering SideLink to our OEM customer-base of manufacturers and branders for integration into future products utilizing the Windows Vista OS and Windows SideShow technologies."

The Microsoft-Approved Remote Control for Windows Vista Media Center

The Microsoft-approved Remote Control for Windows Vista Media Center, also to be launched by Interlink at 2007 International CES, is a 44-button Windows Media Center remote control. Ultra-stylish and ergonomically-balanced, this dedicated Windows Vista remote features the Windows Media Center Green Button to provide one-touch launch of Media Center menus. Interlink Electronics will initially offer this turnkey Remote for Windows Vista Media Center to its OEM customers in the computer and home entertainment markets.

"Interlink Electronics is widely recognized as one of the world's leading suppliers of remote controls for projection systems and advanced viewing devices, with customers including Sanyo, Dell, HP, SONY and Toshiba," continued Interlink's Jim Reisteter. "Last September, we introduced our first PC media remote, the ExpressCard Media Remote for Bluetooth. At this year's International CES, we are launching two more entertainment-based remote controls. Microsoft's new Windows Vista Media Center software application promises to be dominant in this space and it's been our pleasure to work with the Windows Media Center and Windows SideShow teams in the development of these advanced remote interface solutions."
