Rick's Cabaret Set to Launch Newest "Club Onyx" Gentlemen's Club near Houston's Hobby Airport
Business Wire, Jan 8, 2007
HOUSTON -- Rick's Cabaret International, Inc. (NASDAQ: RICK), the national chain of gentlemen's clubs, will launch a Club Oynx in South Houston near Hobby Airport on Thursday. It is the company's fourth Club Oynx, upscale nightclubs featuring topless entertainers and catering to African-American businessmen and professionals.
The newest Club Onyx will open at the site of what had been operating as a Rick's Cabaret & Sports Bar. The club at 9009 Airport Blvd will launch January 11th with a three-day grand opening party featuring music selections by top Houston DJs and appearances by the Onyx VIP Girls, an elite team of topless entertainers.
"The Club Onyx brand has become exceptionally strong in each of the markets we have entered and we believe this location in the south of Houston will generate the same customer enthusiasm and loyalty," according to Eric Langan, President and CEO of Rick's Cabaret.
"The original Club Onyx near the Galleria is a favorite entertainment spot for Houston's businessmen, professional athletes and travelers," said Ed Anakar, director of operations. "Everyone loves the high energy and ambiance at Club Onyx, and of course our beautiful and friendly entertainers. Plus, you never know what celebrities you're going to meet there."
The company's first Club Onyx was opened in 2004 and became an immediate success, attracting the patronage of Houston's professional athletes, hip hop musicians and African-American business executives. In 2006 the company extended the brand to San Antonio and Charlotte.
