One of the Largest Solution Providers in Japan Signs Master Distributor Agreement With LiteScape to Provide Unified Communication Applications

High Demand in Japan for LiteScape Technologies Converged Communication Applications to Be Fulfilled by Sumisho Computer Systems Corporation, an Affiliate of Sumitomo Corporation
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. & TOKYO -- LiteScape Technologies, Inc. (www.litescape.com) and Sumitomo Corporation affiliate Sumisho Computer Systems Corporation (SCS) (http://www.scs.co.jp/english/index.html) today jointly announced that LiteScape has received a major distribution contract from SCS with a commitment to sell LiteScape applications to the VoIP market. This agreement appoints SCS, one of the largest systems integrators in Japan, as the Authorized Master Distributor of LiteScape products for the Japanese market. SCS, an affiliate of Sumitomo Corporation, will be responsible for the sales, marketing and deployment of LiteScape's enterprise software which unifies business processes with IP telephony to improve customer and employee services, enhance sales and reduce costs for organizations throughout Japan.
SCS provides system integrations services for Industrial solutions, ERP solutions, Platform solutions. "In Japan, we see an accelerated adoption of IP devices and companies are looking to take advantage of their new infrastructure with practical and innovative software applications that enhance and improve everyday business and communications processes," said Yuji Iino, general manager of VoIP Sales Division at SCS. "LiteScape has created a critical set of applications that we believe will be an important driver of VoIP adoption in the enterprise."
LiteScape delivers on the promise of unified communication with a suite of real time collaborative applications for a variety of vertical markets including retail, financial institutions, law firms, healthcare and government. These solutions enable the secure, real-time management of interactive sessions comprised of voice, data, and image streams that can be coordinated and simultaneously delivered to various IP devices. For example, with the push of a single button, users can invite and join participants to on-demand teleconferences, videoconferences or web-collaboration meetings from their desktops, IP phones and wireless devices, automating and simplifying what is normally a cumbersome process.

This year, Mitsukoshi initiated an "intelligent fitting room", which utilizes the Cisco IP phones to improve the customer experience and increase sales.
According to SCS's Iino, the partnership with LiteScape is an excellent opportunity for SCS to further capitalize on its expertise in the internetworking arena. "After extensive market and technical research, we found that LiteScape is a leader in developing VoIP applications across all market segments," adds Iino. "In addition, we will develop other applications for Japanese-specific requirements to fully leverage the pre-existing VoIP installed base." This Agreement includes the purchase of LiteScape's integration and development platform that will allow SCS to rapidly customize and develop additional applications for Desktop to VoIP collaboration, personalization and identity management.
