iStreamPlanet Adopts Microsoft Silverlight to Power Next Generation Webcasting

Leading Webcast Provider to Offer Applications Based on Silverlight Later this Summer
LAS VEGAS -- iStreamPlanet Co., a leader in the management and monetization of webcasting services, today announced collaboration with Microsoft to deliver rich interactive media experiences using Microsoft Silverlight. iStreamPlanet plans to implement Silverlight into its end-to-end webcasting solution and begin utilizing its next generation media streaming capabilities with its growing portfolio of industry leading customers such as AT&T BlueRoom, World Series of Poker, and the Consumer Electronics Show.

Microsoft Silverlight is a new cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering the next generation of media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web. Silverlight includes support for the Windows Media platform and the SMPTE VC-1 video standard, enabling immediate compatibility with millions of hours of content already available on the Web, while adding support for rich interactive capabilities and the ability to scale from full-screen high-definition (HD) to mobile scenarios.
