A.M. Best Assigns Rating to ACMAT Corporation

Business Wire, July 10, 2007

OLDWICK, N.J. -- A.M. Best Co. has assigned an issuer credit rating (ICR) of "bbb" to ACMAT Corporation (New Britain, CT) [PinkSheets: ACMTA], the parent holding company of ACSTAR Insurance Company (ACSTAR) (Chicago, IL). The outlook for the rating is stable. A.M. Best affirmed the financial strength rating (FSR) of A (Excellent) and ICR of "a" of ACSTAR on April 20, 2007.

The ICR reflects the strong capital position of the company's principal operating subsidiary, ACSTAR, as well as the group's historically strong operating performance.

Somewhat offsetting these positive rating factors is the group's limited profile as a monoline writer of commercial surety contracts.
