Gensym Announces First Quarter 2007 Results

BURLINGTON, Mass. -- Gensym Corporation (Pink Sheets: GNSM), a leading provider of rule engine software for mission-critical solutions, today announced revenues of $4,093,000 and net income of $179,000, or $0.02 per diluted share, for the quarter ended March 31, 2007. For the corresponding quarter of 2006, Gensym had revenues of $3,888,000 and a net loss of $473,000, or $0.06 per diluted share.

The results for the first quarter of 2007 included a non-cash expense related to stock-based compensation of $10,000, or $0.00 per share, as compared to stock-based compensation expenses of $94,000 or $0.01 per share in the same period of 2006.
